Lauri Gwilt

Lauri Gwilt is the founder and inspiration behind A Wise Woman Enterprises - a natural culmination of Lauri’s 20 years in business, contagious enthusiasm and her personal commitment to support and strengthen others.

In the early 90’s, as a mom raising two young daughters, Lauri became a pioneer of home based business, at a time when working from home was not the norm. Her first company brought Lauri Young Entrepreneur Award nominations as well as recognition from provincial and national publications. In 2000 she co-founded Causative Inc., an affiliate of The Pacific Institute, an organization dedicated to helping people understand the impact their thinking has on their lives, both personally and professionally.

Lauri’s had the privilege of working with tens of thousands of people, consulting and facilitating within large corporations, government and First Nations communities. Through her work, as well as in her personal life, Lauri was seeing a pattern emerge, particularly with women.

While most women know from a logical perspective that it¹s important to slow down, recharge, connect with friends, and celebrate who and where they are in their lives, far too many women report that these are difficult things to do. The subliminal and sometimes overt messages of perfection we are constantly receiving from the media to; be a certain kind of person, have a certain title, be a certain size, have a designer home, be a gourmet chef, etc. are all contributing to this “more, higher, faster, not good enough” thinking that some of us have unconsciously adopted.

Seeing this pattern inspired Lauri to create A Wise Woman Enterprises. Through Wise Women Weekend Retreats and products created with purpose, A Wise Woman serves as a reminder to women to pause more often; connect with each other, and to celebrate their lives.
